5 Star Match SPECIAL EVENT

This year's high profile 5 Star Match took place at the prestigious Wood Norton Hall near Evesham, Worcestershire in central England on Saturday 9th August 2008.

Steeped in history, Wood Norton Hall is a glorious Victorian house set in beautiful countryside. Previous owners include a medieval king, the French Bourbon-Orleans family and the BBC. In 1907, it was even the setting for a royal wedding!

Two teams of 5 archers representing the cream of European archery competed for their share of a 17,000 US Dollar prize fund on a challenging Field course over a single day event.

The archers shot in pairs with one archer from each team going head to head on each target. The individual match pairings were drawn at random from a hat.

The teams selected for this event represent the cream of European archery...

Team Black:
(competing with Mathews bows)

Chris White
Niels Baldur
Philippe Prieels
Liam Grimwood
Geraint Thomas

Team Red:

The team with the greatest number of winning matches at the end of the event wins.

In addition, a $2000 US Dollar prize was awarded to the highest scoring archer.
